Hey thanks for another off the mighty K-Ark label.

Here's a bit about Cousin Merle (or at least I think it's him) from the Globe Gazette from Mason City Iowa 3/16/2000

"The man who is probably better known to the public as "Cousin Merle" has been making music in North Iowa and across the Midwest for more than 60 years with "The Maple Leaf Cowboys. " Merle started the band in the 40's and was still going stronwhen the article was written. As Merle said "No one got rich but we did what we liked and had lots of fun" Here's a link to the complete article. http://globegazette.com/lifestyles/article_61a647a0-fdbb-5dfe-b9c0-96ffaf7a8690.html

Looks like he passed away last year at the age of 87. Here's a snippet from from his obit "Merle was an accomplished musician, having started playing the guitar and singing at age 16. Cousin Merle and the Maple Leaf Cowboys played at many dances and area events. He made a commercial and recorded numerous records between 1967 and 1980 in Nashville, Tenn."
